Ms. J. Pamela Scott
Notes For Parents
While having fun in the sun, don't forget to have your child read and practice their cursive handwriting over the summer!! To make it fun, you and your child can:
- Help write a grocery list
- Send a penpal letter to a friend or classmate
- Pretend to write a check--your local bank has student checks to practice on
- Write an essay about your latest vacation
- Practice basic cursive writing---first and last name 10 times each
Whatever you do this summer, incorporate cursive writing into your child's daily activities. When students are out of school, they forget what they learn. If you make the activities fun, your child will enjoy writing and be ready for school in the fall.
Have a safe and happy summer vacation!!

Classroom Rules and Expectations
School's out but other rules still apply...
- Swimming---obey the rules at the pool or beach. Make sure there's a life guard on duty before you jump in to have fun.
- Summer Camps---obey the camp rules. The rules are set for your protection and safety. Make sure you know the rules at all times.
- Day trips or vacations--fasten your safety belt in the car. This is for your safety and vacation enjoyment.
- Babysitter---follow the house rules while your parents are away and listen to the person who is in charge.
Homework
Even though homework is over for the year, make sure your child practices cursive writing so they won't forget the 26 letters of the alphabet.
Have a great summer!
