Notes For Parents

Your children need to come to school with their Phys. Ed. uniform on for the day. They are going to see me 1 day each week. If your student has allergies (to grass) or is unable to participate for a medical reason, I need a note signed from you or a doctor stating that they cannot participate.

Again, Your child should come to school in their gym uniform. Children should not be changing their clothes in our restrooms. If your child does not come to school in their gym uniform then they will not be able to participate and they will be issued a demerit for that infraction. You wil be notified via email by me if this should occur.

Refer to the uniform page for more information on what is required for Family Foundations:

About the Teacher

Hello everyone! I am Mrs. Dobbs, and I am the Health & Physical Education Teacher at Family Foundations. I am so excited for the school year to start. I hope you are ready to see our gym this year! Please be prepared Grades 2-4 with a composition book or 1-subject notebook to keep with you. We will be keeping our notes in there as well as journaling and logging our steps and heart rate for activities. You will also be able to show the journal at home so that you family can see what your family at school is doing.

I love learning, and especially about Health & P. E. If you have any questions or interest that I might be able to help you with, please ask! If I don't know, I will surely find out for you.

My hobbies are going to the beach, reading, playing sports, going to the gym and relaxing with my family.

Goals for the Year

The goal of our Physical Education and Health classes are to learn ways to be physically active and healthy for life. We are going to learn about:

Ways to move and how to use those moves in the games we play and throughout life.

Why do we need to move?

Why is movement important?

How do we interact with others so that we can all have fun, everyone interacts and are safe?

How can I have fun moving and being physically active? What are my personal ways of being physically active?
