Notes For Parents

Do you know what your students are wearing to school? If students do not have gym, they are not permitted to wear any part of gym attire to school instead of the required daily uniform. If they do have gym, gym uniforms are to be worn ONLY on the days that gym is in session. Students in violation will receive a demerit for each day that they are in violation. Please consult the Student Code of Conduct to review the uniform policy.

About the Teacher

Hello Parents, Guardians and Students,

     My name is Monique Dolcy. I am a native of New York and relocated to Delaware several years ago in search of a better quality of life for my daughters, Whitney & Lynn. I received my Bachelor of Arts degree from the College of New Rochelle, New York and am currently working on my Masters at Strayer University. Reared in a strict West Indian household, I learned early that a good education is essential. I carried this philosophy throughout adulthood and now apply it to the traditions of my classroom.
     My evolving goal is to pick up the baton and continue running the marathon to success with my students. Learning is a personal experience and should be fun. My wish is that my students' recollections ten years from now about their experiences in my classroom are pleasant and cherished.
     In my spare time, I enjoy going to the theater, playing board games with my girls and spending time with my mom & dad. I can't be compared with the geniuses that appear on Iron Chef, but I enjoy cooking whether I am hungry or not. Among some of my favorite things are:

Classroom Rules and Expectations

During their time in my classroom, students may: 

  • Leave their seat at anytime with permission.
  • Speak if they have raised their hands, are acknowledged and called on.
  • Use the restroom during independent time with permission.
  • Share opinions respectfully with permission.
  • Consult the Student Code of Conduct at anytime when in doubt or unsure of school rules.

Learning cannot take place without established order. Classroom and school wide rules are expected to be adhered to at all times. In the event that a student is in violation of any rules herein or stipulated in the Student Code of Conduct, he/she will be referred to the Dean of Students and the parent or guardian will be notified immediately.
